Inner Child Freedom Exercise (ICFE) Workshop - Kent - Monday 10th November 2025
Negative childhood experiences create negative, mistaken beliefs, resulting in unwanted behaviour and negative feelings. These beliefs are resident in the part of the unconscious mind where the childhood experienced are catalogued but continue to influence our ‘today’ perspectives. Changing negative beliefs requires contact with the belief core to provide accurate information that can alter the original perspective.
It is recognised that children often blame themselves for things that grown ups do/say. This is an exercise providing the basic information needed to assist the Child part to begin to process the concept that grown ups make mistakes and display unwanted behaviours as a result of their own problems. Therefore, the grown up’s mistakes and behaviours are not really about the child- the child is not at blame.
At a core level, this realisation assists people to begin to step away from guilt, blame and shame. However, further more focused work would need to be done on specific major issues before full resolution is achieved. This exercise covers the basic principles of resolution.
This workshop is hosted by Rubicon a Kent based charity, providing Trauma Counselling for People Affected by Crime.
